Estate Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and versatile Estate Manager to oversee a significant rural estate near Portsmouth . This senior role demands a blend of agricultural knowledge, property management skills, and leadership abilities. You will be responsible for the effective management of agricultural operations, land use, property maintenance, and staff across the estate, ensuring it runs efficiently, sustainably, and profitably. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of rural land management, a strong business acumen, and the ability to manage diverse teams and projects, contributing to the preservation and enhancement of the estate's value and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for agricultural activities, land conservation, and property development.
• Oversee all aspects of farm operations, including crop production, livestock management, and resource allocation.
• Manage property maintenance, repairs, and improvements, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Recruit, train, manage, and motivate estate staff, including farmhands, groundskeepers, and maintenance personnel.
• Control budgets, manage financial reporting, and ensure the financial viability and profitability of the estate.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including contractors, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Significant experience in estate management , agricultural management, or a closely related field.
• Proven track record in managing budgets, P&L, and large-scale operations.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, land management, and property maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• A degree in Agriculture, Estate Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Ability to adapt to diverse challenges and make strategic decisions for the long-term benefit of the estate.
