Job Description
Estimator (M&E) - Hybrid (Hampshire)
We are recruiting for an experienced M&E Estimator to join a well-established contractor working in multiple sectors including rail, highways and utilities.
You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of rail infrastructure and other sector projects. You will work closely with operational teams, suppliers, and clients to develop commercially competitive bids while ensuring technical accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for M&E projects.
* Review tender documentation, specifications, and drawings.
* Produce detailed take-offs, pricing schedules, and cost breakdowns.
* Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
* Liaise with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams throughout the tender process.
* Support tender submissions and post-tender negotiations.
* Maintain estimating records and pricing databases.
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
* Previous experience as an M&E Estimator
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* The ability to manage multiple tenders and work independently
