Event Catering Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and organised Event Catering Manager to oversee and execute exceptional catering services for a variety of events in and around Birmingham . You will be responsible for managing client relationships, coordinating all aspects of event catering from menu planning to on-site execution, and leading a dedicated team of catering staff. This hybrid role involves a blend of in-office planning and on-site event supervision, ensuring seamless delivery and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for creating memorable culinary experiences for guests at corporate functions, private parties, and special occasions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage client consultations, understand their event needs, and create bespoke catering proposals and menus.
• Oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of all catering services, ensuring timely and flawless delivery.
• Coordinate with chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery on event days.
• Manage event budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Conduct on-site inspections and setup, supervising the catering team during events.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and venue contacts.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Event Catering Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of menu planning, food presentation , and service styles for various event types.
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in budget management and cost control within the catering sector .
• Exceptional client-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
