Event Chef (Catering)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented and creative Event Chef to join their busy catering team in Edinburgh on a contract basis. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency, and contributing to menu development. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and quality standards for events.
• Collaborate with the catering manager and team to plan and execute event menus.
• Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, organized, and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Manage kitchen inventory, including stock rotation and ordering of ingredients.
• Adapt to different catering settings and requirements, including on-site preparation and service.
• Contribute creative ideas for menu development and culinary innovation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef, with a focus on event catering .
• Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Excellent understanding of food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines during busy event periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
