About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Facade Engineer to join their specialist design team, supporting projects remotely across the UK, including those based in and around Oxford . This role is critical for the design, specification, and oversight of building envelopes and facade systems, ensuring they meet aesthetic, performance, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to deliver cutting-edge facade solutions, driving excellence in building design and performance within the high-end construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and specification of complex facade systems, including curtain walling, cladding, and roofing.
- Perform structural analysis and thermal calculations for facade elements.
- Ensure facade designs comply with all relevant building codes, standards (e.g., BS EN standards), and fire safety regulations.
- Collaborate with architects to achieve design intent while ensuring technical feasibility and performance.
- Coordinate with contractors and manufacturers to ensure quality fabrication and installation of facade systems.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design drawings for facade elements.
Requirements
- Degree in Facade Engineering , Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Significant experience in facade design and engineering for complex construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of facade systems, materials, and performance requirements.
- Proficiency with relevant design and analysis software.
- Strong understanding of building physics , thermal performance, and weatherproofing principles.
