About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and organised Facilities Cleaning Manager to oversee cleaning services for a portfolio of commercial properties in Reading . This management role involves leading a team of cleaning staff, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness across all sites. You will be responsible for staff scheduling, performance management, quality control, and managing cleaning supplies and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of cleaning operations and health and safety compliance, with a portion of the role involving remote administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, train, and motivate a team of cleaning operatives to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to meet client requirements and operational needs.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, identify areas for improvement, and ensure adherence to standards.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adequate stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessments.
- Liaise with clients and building managers to provide updates, address concerns, and build strong working relationships.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a cleaning management or supervisory role, preferably within facilities management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent understanding of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using scheduling software and standard office applications for reporting and administration.
- Ability to travel between sites regularly, with some remote work flexibility.
