Role Overview
The Facilities Coordinator will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our educational settings. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day facilities operations, ensuring health and safety compliance, and coordinating maintenance activities. Your organisational skills and proactive approach will support a productive and safe environment for all users of our premises.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure all facilities are safe, clean, and operational.
- Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to schedule and supervise planned maintenance and urgent repairs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and internal policies, including risk assessments and fire safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Support the management of space allocation and room bookings to optimise facility usage.
- Assist in budget monitoring for facilities-related expenses and report on costs and variances.
- Respond promptly to facilities-related enquiries and issues raised by staff, students, and visitors.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives within the organisation’s facilities.
- Support emergency procedures and business continuity planning related to facilities management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in facilities management or coordination, preferably within the education sector or a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in facilities management.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in using facilities management software, maintenance tracking systems, or Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and solution-focused approach.
- Relevant qualifications or training in facilities management, health and safety, or building maintenance are desirable.
