About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and conscientious Facilities Maintenance Cleaner to join their property management team in Sunderland . This role is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all building occupants and visitors. You will be responsible for a range of cleaning duties, as well as assisting with minor maintenance tasks to ensure the facilities are in optimal condition. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of a well-maintained building, contributing to a positive experience for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising all common areas, offices, and washrooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, and entrances to ensure a professional appearance.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests and spills, ensuring immediate attention to safety hazards.
• Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and reporting any issues to the facilities manager.
• Empty and clean waste bins, ensuring proper disposal of general and recyclable waste.
• Assist with the setup and cleanup of meeting rooms or event spaces as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in cleaning, preferably within a facilities management or commercial environment.
• Familiarity with cleaning supplies and equipment, and their safe usage.
• Basic understanding of minor building maintenance tasks.
• Physical stamina for walking, standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanour.
