About the Role
Our client is seeking a versatile Facilities Maintenance Engineer to contribute to the upkeep and operational efficiency of their premises in Bristol . This role encompasses a broad range of maintenance tasks, from routine building checks and repairs to the servicing of essential M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) systems. You will ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for employees and visitors alike. This position requires a practical, adaptable individual with a proactive approach to facility management and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations.
- Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance requests and emergencies promptly.
- Conduct general building fabric repairs, including minor carpentry, decorating, and structural checks.
- Maintain and service building services equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Oversee the work of external contractors when specialist services are required.
- Keep accurate logs of all maintenance activities and building inspections.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled facilities maintenance or building services role.
- Knowledge of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP).
- Ability to undertake basic repairs across various trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within a facilities environment.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies.
