Facilities Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Facilities Maintenance Engineer to manage the upkeep of their properties in Edinburgh . This role is responsible for ensuring all building systems and equipment are functioning safely and efficiently, encompassing a wide range of maintenance tasks. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the operational integrity of the facilities, responding to maintenance requests, and implementing preventative care strategies. This position requires a broad skillset across various maintenance disciplines and a commitment to providing a safe and well-maintained environment for all building occupants.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment.
• Respond to and resolve urgent maintenance issues and emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as per the established schedule to minimize system failures.
• Undertake minor repairs and installations of building fixtures and fittings.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and building regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Facilities Maintenance Engineer role or a similar multi-skilled maintenance position.
• Good working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented approach.
