Facilities Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a versatile Facilities Maintenance Engineer to manage the upkeep and operational efficiency of their premises in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role involves a broad range of maintenance tasks, including general repairs, planned servicing, and ensuring the smooth operation of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and basic electricals. You will be instrumental in maintaining a safe, functional, and compliant environment for all employees and visitors. The ideal candidate is a proactive, multi-skilled individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to handle diverse maintenance challenges independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Carry out repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building fabric as required.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance work undertaken and parts used.
• Assist with minor renovation projects and site improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a facilities maintenance or multi-trade role.
• Good understanding of building systems including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of maintenance issues.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• A recognised qualification in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical) is advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
