Facilities Maintenance Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep and operational efficiency of their premises in Nottingham . This role involves managing a team of maintenance staff and contractors to ensure all building systems, infrastructure, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance schedules, reactive repairs, and managing budgets for maintenance operations. This is a key leadership position for someone with a strong background in facilities management and a commitment to providing a safe, functional, and well-maintained working environment in the Nottinghamshire area. You will play a critical role in supporting the organization's core functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Manage and supervise a team of in-house maintenance staff and external contractors.
• Oversee reactive maintenance requests, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.
• Manage the facilities maintenance budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to facility operations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
• Procure necessary maintenance supplies and equipment, managing inventory levels.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Facilities Management or Maintenance Supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and health & safety legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and contractor relationships effectively.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and operational efficiency.
• Based in or able to commute reliably to the Nottingham area.
