We’re recruiting for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy site in Leicester.
This is a varied, hands-on Facilities Manager role combining facilities management, health and safety, team leadership, contractor management and customer service. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
With responsibility across both people and facilities, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day running of a site and likes a role where there’s plenty of variety.
Key responsibilities
As Facilities Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Managing and supporting a small facilities team, including training, 1:1s and performance reviews
- Ensuring the site meets relevant health, safety and statutory compliance requirements
- Completing and reviewing risk assessments, audits and health and safety procedures
- Overseeing building maintenance and preventative maintenance programmes
- Managing contractors, suppliers and facilities contracts
- Monitoring service levels and ensuring work is completed to agreed standards
- Supporting maintenance, refurbishment and improvement projects
- Managing facilities-related budgets and expenditure
- Coordinating room bookings and set-ups
- Providing excellent customer service and resolving facilities queries promptly
- Acting as a point of contact for escalated issues
- Working closely with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the site
About you
We’re looking for a Facilities Manager with previous experience in facilities, building, hospitality, conference, leisure or operational management.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience managing and supporting a team
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk assessments and compliance
- Experience managing contractors, suppliers and facilities contracts
- An understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and general building maintenance
- Experience managing budgets and monitoring expenditure
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A practical, hands-on approach
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
- Confidence working with a range of colleagues, customers, contractors and suppliers
