Factory Maintenance Expert (FME) – Trainer

Location: Milton Keynes, UK Salary: £42,000 – £50,000 per annum Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:30. However, operational needs may require some flexibility, including participating in a weekly on-call rota to provide support for the factory. Contract: Full Time, Permanent Benefits: Performance-related bonus, Company Pension Plan, Westfield Health Plan, Company Sick Pay and Income Protection Plan, Life Assurance (all subject to length of service).

This is a great opportunity to join the Engineering and Maintenance department as a Factory Maintenance Expert – Trainer during the exciting expansion project of the BPUK site. We are seeking individuals with expertise in mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics to support the technical integration of existing and new equipment.

As an FME – Trainer, you will play a key role in both the technical performance of our production lines and the development of our operational teams. Combining hands-on engineering expertise with knowledge transfer and coaching, you will help build skilled and autonomous teams capable of operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment safely and efficiently.

You Must Be Able To Demonstrate

An understanding of production equipment and processes, with the ability to support their integration, optimisation and continuous improvement. Hands-on technical expertise in maintaining production line efficiency, including fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, repair activities and maintenance improvement initiatives. Experience in delivering practical and classroom-based technical training across a range of engineering disciplines, including mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics. Strong coaching and mentoring skills to develop the technical competency and autonomy of operators and line personnel in equipment operation, troubleshooting and maintenance. A commitment to people development, supporting stakeholders in identifying skills gaps and development opportunities. The capability to develop, maintain and continuously improve training materials, work instructions and technical documentation. The ability to manage maintenance resources to ensure availability whilst maintaining budget control. A safety culture mentality, ensuring the promotion of and compliance with company Health and Safety policies and procedures. Computer literacy and experience of using maintenance or production systems. You May Be Able To Demonstrate

A Level 3 or equivalent qualification in an engineering related subject (Mechanics, Electrics etc.) Your Key Qualities

Able to see the detail and present the root cause of problems, errors and process breakdown. Resilient and confident when faced with technical challenges, operational pressures and competing priorities. Analytical in approach, using data, observations and performance indicators to identify issues and develop practical solutions. Passionate about sharing knowledge and helping others develop their technical skills and confidence. Able to communicate technical concepts clearly verbally and in writing and adapt your approach to suit different audiences and skill levels. You have a continuous improvement mindset and are always looking for ways to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and team capability.
