About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments of family needs and circumstances, identifying areas where support is required.
• Deliver targeted interventions and practical support to families in their own homes, promoting positive parenting and household management.
• Liaise effectively with schools, health visitors, and other community services to ensure integrated support for families.
• Develop and implement support plans in partnership with families, setting achievable goals and monitoring progress.
• Provide information, advice, and advocacy to families on a range of issues, including housing, benefits, and education.
• Maintain accurate case notes and records, adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies.

Requirements

• Experience working with families or children in a professional or voluntary capacity.
• Understanding of child development, family dynamics, and the challenges faced by vulnerable families.
• Strong communication and active listening skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent are desirable.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel within the Manchester area.
