About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Family Support Officer to join their team in Belfast . This role is crucial in providing comprehensive support to families experiencing various challenges, aiming to improve child welfare and family functioning within the Northern Ireland community. You will work directly with families in their homes and community settings, assessing needs, offering practical guidance, and connecting them with appropriate resources. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about making a positive impact on family dynamics and strengthening community bonds through direct intervention and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits and assessments to identify family needs and risks.
• Develop and implement tailored support plans for families, focusing on child protection and well-being.
• Provide practical advice, emotional support, and mediation to families.
• Liaise effectively with schools, health services, and other relevant agencies to coordinate support.
• Deliver group-based interventions and parenting programs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records, adhering to professional standards.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in social work, child and family care, or a related field.
• Experience working directly with families in a statutory or voluntary setting.
• In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and build trust with families.
• Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for home visits across Belfast .
