Farm Assistant - General Duties

About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Farm Assistant to support various operations on their mixed farm near Derby, Derbyshire . This role offers a broad range of hands-on tasks across different areas of the farm, including crop work, animal care, and general maintenance. You will be an integral part of the farm team, assisting with daily routines and contributing to the overall productivity and upkeep of the farm. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain comprehensive experience in the agricultural sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with planting, tending, and harvesting crops as directed.
• Perform general animal husbandry tasks, including feeding and basic care.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment under supervision.
• Carry out general farm maintenance, including fencing repairs and yard cleaning.
• Support the team with specific tasks during busy periods like lambing or harvest.
• Ensure farm biosecurity and health and safety procedures are followed.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a farm or agricultural setting is preferred but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and undertake a variety of farm tasks.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
