Farm Hand / Agricultural Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Farm Hand / Agricultural Assistant to support operations on their farm located in Sheffield . This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in a variety of daily tasks, contributing to the successful running of crop and/or livestock activities. You will work under the guidance of the farm manager and supervisors, assisting with planting, harvesting, animal care, and general farm maintenance. This is an excellent entry-level position for someone passionate about agriculture who is eager to learn and develop their skills in a practical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops according to established schedules.
• Perform general farm maintenance, including fence repair, site cleanup, and upkeep of equipment.
• Provide daily care for livestock, including feeding, watering, and monitoring for health issues.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
• Assist with record-keeping of daily activities, such as yield data and animal movements.
• Follow instructions from farm management to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Requirements

• Previous experience working on a farm or in a similar agricultural environment is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and perform a wide range of farm tasks.
• Basic understanding of farm machinery operation and maintenance.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
