About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Farm Machinery Technician to join their agricultural team based near Portsmouth, Hampshire . This hands-on role is critical for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of the farm's essential equipment. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of agricultural machinery, playing a vital role in keeping the farm running efficiently throughout the demanding seasons.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing of farm machinery , including tractors, harvesters, and implements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in agricultural equipment.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability.
• Maintain an organized workshop and manage spare parts inventory.
• Ensure all machinery safety checks are completed and documented.
• Advise farm management on machinery condition and replacement needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a mechanic, with specific experience in maintaining and repairing agricultural machinery .
• Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency with a variety of tools and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems common in farm equipment.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, often under time pressure.
• Good understanding of farm operations and the importance of reliable machinery.
• Relevant mechanical qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
