About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Farm Manager with a specialization in livestock operations to lead their farm in Stoke-on-Trent . This senior role requires a deep understanding of animal husbandry, herd health, breeding programs, and overall farm efficiency. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of livestock production, including feeding, welfare, and performance monitoring, as well as supervising farm staff and ensuring compliance with agricultural regulations. This is a key leadership position within a dedicated agricultural business focused on producing high-quality livestock.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of livestock management, including breeding, feeding, health, and welfare programs for cattle/sheep/poultry (specify as appropriate).
- Develop and implement efficient feeding strategies to optimize animal growth and health.
- Monitor herd performance, analyze data, and implement improvements to increase productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all animal welfare regulations and best practices in Stoke-on-Trent .
- Manage farm staff, providing training, supervision, and performance feedback.
- Maintain farm equipment and infrastructure related to livestock operations, ensuring safety and functionality.
Requirements
- Significant experience in livestock farming and farm management.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in animal husbandry, nutrition, and veterinary care.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of modern farming techniques and technologies for livestock.
- Ability to analyze farm data and make informed management decisions.
