Farm Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Farm Manager to oversee operations at their extensive agricultural facility near Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of crop production, livestock care, and land management to ensure optimal yield, efficiency, and sustainability. You will lead a team of farm workers, implement innovative farming techniques, and ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural regulations and best practices. This is a hands-on position requiring a deep understanding of modern agricultural principles and a passion for driving success in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual farm plans, including crop rotation, planting schedules, and harvesting strategies.
• Oversee the daily care, feeding, and health management of all livestock, ensuring high standards of animal welfare.
• Manage and maintain all farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure, arranging for repairs and upgrades as needed.
• Supervise, train, and motivate farm staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure efficient operations.
• Monitor soil health, pest control, and irrigation systems, employing sustainable practices to maximize crop yields and quality.
• Maintain detailed records of farm activities, including production, expenses, and inventory, for reporting purposes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in farm management or a senior agricultural role, preferably within the UK farming sector.
• Strong knowledge of crop science, soil management, and animal husbandry specific to the region.
• Experience operating and maintaining a variety of agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to delegate effectively.
• Proficiency in farm record-keeping and basic financial management.
• A relevant qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field is highly desirable.
