Farm Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of their expansive agricultural facility near Leeds . This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of crop production, livestock management, and equipment maintenance to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability. You will be responsible for managing a team of farmhands, implementing operational strategies, and maintaining high standards of animal welfare and crop quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of modern farming techniques, and a hands-on approach to management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all daily farm activities, including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and livestock care.
• Supervise, train, and schedule farm staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of all farm machinery, equipment, and facilities.
• Develop and manage the farm's operational budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
• Implement best practices for soil health, pest control, and crop rotation to maximize yield and quality.
• Ensure compliance with all agricultural regulations, environmental standards, and food safety requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Farm Manager or in a similar agricultural operations role.
• Strong knowledge of crop production techniques, livestock management, and farm equipment.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with agricultural technology and modern farming practices.
• Ability to manage budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Valid driver's license and a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
