Farm Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Farm Operations Manager to oversee the efficient running of a diverse agricultural enterprise based in Liverpool, Merseyside . This senior role requires a comprehensive understanding of both crop and livestock management, as well as expertise in financial planning, resource allocation, and staff leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring all farm activities are conducted safely, profitably, and in line with environmental regulations. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong practical experience, dedicated to optimizing productivity and sustainability across the entire farm operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational plans to achieve farm productivity and profitability targets.
• Manage and supervise all farm staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee crop cultivation, harvesting, storage, and livestock husbandry processes.
• Manage farm budgets, control expenditure, and ensure efficient use of resources, including machinery and inputs.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and animal welfare regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of farm activities, yields, livestock health, and financial performance.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in farm management , covering both crop and livestock operations.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and improve operational efficiency.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in supervising teams.
• Knowledge of modern agricultural techniques, machinery, and sustainable farming practices.
• A relevant qualification in Agriculture, Farm Management, or a related discipline is essential.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
