About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Farm Operations Manager to oversee daily operations on their agricultural holding near Birmingham, West Midlands . This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of crop production, livestock management, and farm staff to ensure optimal yield, efficiency, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for crop rotation, planting, and harvesting to maximize yield and quality.
- Supervise and manage farm workers, providing clear direction, training, and performance feedback.
- Oversee the care and management of livestock, ensuring animal welfare standards are met and health is maintained.
- Manage farm equipment, machinery, and infrastructure, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Monitor soil health, water usage, and pest control, implementing sustainable agricultural practices.
- Maintain accurate records of production, expenses, and inventory, and prepare regular operational reports.
Requirements
- A degree or HND in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in farm management or a similar agricultural leadership role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of modern farming techniques, crop science, and livestock husbandry.
- Strong understanding of farm machinery operation, maintenance, and safety.
- Experience in managing budgets and controlling farm expenditures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
