About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Farm Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of their farm in the Oxford area. This role is critical in ensuring that all farming activities are conducted efficiently, safely, and in line with the farm's strategic objectives. You will manage a team of farm workers, coordinate tasks, and ensure the optimal use of resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a practical understanding of diverse farm operations, and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily tasks of farm workers across various departments (e.g., cropping, livestock, machinery).
- Ensure all farm operations are carried out safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Monitor crop health, livestock welfare, and the condition of farm equipment, reporting any issues.
- Assist in planning planting, harvesting, and livestock management schedules.
- Manage the allocation and efficient use of farm resources, including labour, machinery, and materials.
- Conduct regular team briefings and provide ongoing training and support to staff.
- Maintain accurate operational records and contribute to performance reporting.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the agricultural sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of farm operations, including crop cultivation and/or livestock management.
- Experience in managing and motivating a team of employees.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with farm machinery operation and basic maintenance.
- A practical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
