About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Supervisor to lead a team of agricultural workers on their farm near Reading . This dynamic role involves overseeing the daily operations of specific farm sectors, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. You will be responsible for guiding and motivating your team, monitoring crop or livestock activities, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols. The ideal candidate will have a practical understanding of farming techniques and strong leadership skills, playing a key role in the farm's productivity and success through effective team management and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of farmhands, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion.
• Monitor crop growth, livestock health, and general farm conditions, reporting observations to the farm manager.
• Ensure that all farming activities are carried out in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment as needed.
• Assist with record-keeping, including labor hours, yields, and animal health data.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within an agricultural setting.
• Solid understanding of general farming practices, crop cultivation, or livestock management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
