Avalon Group is opening a brand-new supported living service in the heart of Harrogate, and we’re looking for caring, motivated people to join us on this exciting journey. This is a brilliant opportunity to help shape a new service from day one, supporting people with autism and individuals with mental health needs to live truly fulfilling, gloriously ordinary lives.

Due to support needs applicants must befemale(this is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010). You must hold afull-UK Driving Licencewith access to your own vehicle which can be used for work purposes.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you will:

• Work alongside people to achieve their goals, build confidence and develop daily living skills
• Support people with personal care, medication, emotional wellbeing and routines that promote independence
• Build meaningful relationships and create a warm, supportive home environment
• Enable people to access their community, try new things and take positive steps in their lives
• Work collaboratively with families, professionals and your team
• Play a vital role in shaping a brand-new supported living service based on excellent practice

Every day will be purposeful, varied and centred around what matters to the person.

Available shift patterns are varied, with hours of work which can include weekdays, weekends, evening, and sleepover shifts. We’re therefore open to applicants requiringfull-time or part-timehours. Your availability, and any pre-existing commitments you may have, will be discussed at interview stage.

Although you will primarily be based within this package, there will be an expectation to work at services across our Harrogate Locality as required.

About you

Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.Ideally you will have experience of supporting individuals with autism and mental health needs. Our inhouse training team will ensure that you have all the additional skills you need to deliver your role with confidence. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain and develop life-long skills
