Fiber Network Planner

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design fiber optic network routes, considering civil engineering constraints, existing infrastructure, and future capacity needs.
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to identify optimal deployment paths and potential challenges.
• Prepare detailed network design documentation, including CAD drawings, splicing plans, and equipment specifications.
• Liaise with local authorities, landowners, and contractors to secure permits and manage deployment timelines.
• Ensure network designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with construction and deployment teams to provide technical support and resolve design-related issues during build phases.

Requirements

• Degree or HND in Engineering, Geography, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience in network planning, design, or deployment, specifically with fiber optic networks.
• Proficiency with GIS software and network design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, QGIS).
• Strong understanding of fiber optic technologies, cable management, and network infrastructure components.
• Excellent spatial reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.
