About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and hands-on Fiber Optic Technician to join their expanding team in Coventry . You will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks, ensuring reliable data transmission for our customers. This hybrid role offers a balance of field work and opportunities for planning and support within the office environment. You will be at the forefront of delivering high-speed connectivity solutions, contributing to the critical infrastructure that powers modern communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables in various environments, including residential and commercial.
• Perform splicing and fusion of optical fibers using specialized equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks to identify and resolve faults.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or in a related field.
• Proficiency with fiber optic testing equipment such as OTDRs and fusion splicers.
• Understanding of fiber optic principles and standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for occasional site visits.
• Good manual dexterity and physical fitness for working in varied conditions.
