About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fibre Optic Technician to join their operational team based in Cardiff . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fibre optic networks across the region. You will work on-site, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery for our clients. This role requires a practical, problem-solving approach and a commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of your work. You'll be an integral part of delivering high-speed connectivity to homes and businesses throughout Wales .

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test fibre optic cables according to company standards and project specifications.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot network faults to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of fibre optic infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Respond to service calls and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to clients.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies on all job sites.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including test results and site reports.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fibre Optic Technician or in a similar field.
• Strong understanding of fibre optic principles, testing equipment, and installation techniques.
• Proficiency in using fibre optic splicing and testing tools.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical documentation.
• A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel within the designated service area.
• Excellent physical condition and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
