About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Field Installation Technician to join their team, operating remotely to support installations across the UK. While the role is primarily remote, it requires significant travel to client sites for hands-on installation and maintenance tasks, demonstrating a unique blend of remote planning and on-the-ground execution. You will be responsible for the successful deployment and initial setup of sophisticated equipment, ensuring it meets all technical specifications and client requirements. This position is ideal for an experienced technician who is comfortable managing their own schedule, enjoys travel, and excels in delivering high-quality installations, working in a company that embraces a modern, flexible work approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installations and commissioning of equipment at various customer locations.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and calibration to verify system functionality and performance.
- Provide basic operational training and technical guidance to client end-users.
- Diagnose and resolve installation-related issues, escalating to senior technicians or remote support as needed.
- Manage inventory of parts and tools, ensuring availability for scheduled jobs.
- Submit detailed field reports upon completion of each installation, including client sign-off.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a field installation or technical service role.
- Strong practical skills in mechanical and electrical systems assembly and setup.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and installation manuals.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Must possess a valid UK driving license and willingness to undertake significant travel from a remote base, covering areas around Wolverhampton and nationwide.
