Field Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Field Maintenance Engineer to join their team, responsible for the upkeep and repair of sophisticated equipment at client sites. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of installed systems through proactive maintenance and timely repairs. You will be an essential part of the client support structure, ensuring operational continuity and customer satisfaction. The position is based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, UK , and involves regular travel to customer locations, meaning this is a strictly non-remote role.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and servicing on installed equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues efficiently and effectively.
• Respond to emergency service calls and address technical problems promptly to minimize downtime.
• Maintain detailed service records, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for clients.
• Provide technical guidance and basic training to clients on equipment operation and upkeep.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company safety standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Maintenance Engineer or in a similar on-site technical role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in various environments.
• Good communication and customer service skills for effective client interaction.
• Must possess a valid UK driving license and be comfortable with frequent travel.
