About the Role

Our client seeks a proactive and technically proficient Field Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Southampton . This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of equipment through expert installation, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs at various client sites. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional service, troubleshooting complex issues, and upholding the high standards expected within the Installation & Maintenance industry. This hybrid position offers a balance of on-site work and potentially some remote planning or reporting, providing flexibility for the right candidate who is dedicated to technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission new equipment, ensuring all technical specifications are met.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks to prevent and resolve equipment failures.
• Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify the root cause of technical problems.
• Execute repairs efficiently and effectively, using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Maintain detailed records of service calls, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
• Communicate technical information clearly to clients and internal teams.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in a field service or maintenance engineering capacity.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, including schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• A valid UK driving license is required for travel within the Southampton region and beyond.
• Relevant engineering qualifications are preferred, along with a commitment to continuous learning.
