Field Service Engineer - Industrial Automation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join their dynamic team, focusing on industrial automation systems in and around Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of complex machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal disruption for our clients. You will work closely with manufacturing facilities, providing essential technical expertise and support to keep their operations running smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to contribute to critical infrastructure and build strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and configuration of industrial automation equipment.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure system reliability and longevity.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues on customer sites.
• Provide technical training and support to client operational and maintenance staff.
• Maintain detailed service reports, documenting all work performed, parts used, and client feedback.
• Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company protocols during site visits.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar hands-on technical role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, PLCs, robotics, and HMI interfaces.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics and blueprints.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, with a methodical approach.
• Ability to travel regularly to client sites within the specified region and work independently.
