Our client is actively recruiting a proactive and skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team serving the Sunderland area. This essential role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites. You will be the face of the company on the ground, ensuring that clients receive reliable and high-quality service. This position requires a hands-on approach and a dedication to resolving technical challenges efficiently to maintain client satisfaction and operational continuity within the Tyne and Wear region.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain a range of telecommunications hardware and software at client locations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, performing repairs and replacements as needed to ensure optimal system performance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks and services to minimize potential equipment failures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, ensuring they are comfortable with the installed systems.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and inventory logs for all field activities.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a Field Service Engineer , preferably within the telecoms sector.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including voice, data, and network infrastructure.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for troubleshooting.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
- A full UK driving license is mandatory for travel to various client sites across Sunderland and surrounding areas.
