About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands-on and diligent Field Service Engineer to join their expanding team based in Southampton . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites across the region. You will act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, ensuring their systems are operating optimally and providing exceptional on-site support. This position requires a practical mindset, strong technical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service within the telecoms infrastructure domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment , including networking hardware and transmission systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and scheduled inspections to ensure optimal system performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, providing timely and effective repair solutions.
• Respond to customer service requests and resolve on-site technical problems efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all service calls, installations, and maintenance activities.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures while on client premises.

Requirements

• Technical qualification or apprenticeship in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) as a Field Service Engineer or similar role in the telecoms sector .
• Strong understanding of networking principles, fibre optics, and telecommunications hardware.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Valid UK driving licence and a willingness to travel extensively within the designated region.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
