About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Engineer to join their expanding team, covering the Leicester region. This crucial role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing complex machinery and equipment at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. You will be the face of the company to our clients, providing expert technical support and building lasting relationships. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and contributing to the seamless operation of vital industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and configure new equipment according to technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues, implementing effective repair solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and report on equipment performance and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies during site visits.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and potentially PLC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and handheld diagnostic equipment .
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the designated service area.
