About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join their dynamic installation and maintenance team based in Leicester . This role is critical to ensuring the seamless operation and upkeep of complex systems for our diverse client base. You will be responsible for on-site installation, preventative maintenance, and rapid troubleshooting, playing a vital part in maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys problem-solving and working independently across various challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems according to technical specifications.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance checks and servicing to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, faults, and breakdowns efficiently, providing timely repair solutions.
- Collaborate with the technical support team to escalate complex problems and share knowledge.
- Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and inventory of spare parts used during service calls.
- Provide technical guidance and basic training to client personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar field service engineering or technical support role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and potentially electronic systems relevant to the industry.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned Leicester region and occasionally further afield.
- Full UK driving license and a commitment to safety protocols.
