About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Field Service Engineer to join their expanding team in Aberdeen, Scotland . This critical role involves travelling to client sites to install, maintain, and repair specialized equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. You will be the primary technical point of contact for clients, providing expert support and troubleshooting. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a dynamic, customer-facing role within the vital Installation & Maintenance sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and configure new equipment at customer locations across Aberdeen and surrounding areas.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment longevity and reliability.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues with complex machinery.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions, accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to provide feedback on product performance and customer needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar technical role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and potentially PLC systems .
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the Aberdeen region.
