About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Engineer to join their dynamic installation and maintenance team based in Leicester . This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of our client's advanced equipment at customer sites. You will be the primary point of contact for on-site technical support, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance, playing a key role in customer satisfaction and retention. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, a commitment to delivering exceptional service, and the ability to work independently while representing the company professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain a range of specialized equipment at various customer locations within the Leicester area and surrounding regions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and service checks to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repair requests, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including parts used, labor hours, and technical findings, using the company's service management system.
- Collaborate with the technical support team and engineering department to escalate complex issues and contribute to product improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery and integrated systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the designated service area and occasionally further afield.
