About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Field Service Manager to lead their service operations team based in Norwich, Norfolk . This pivotal role involves overseeing the day-to-day activities of field service engineers, ensuring the timely and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment for our clients. You will be responsible for managing team performance, optimizing service delivery, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer satisfaction. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to manage operations both from a central office base and through remote oversight and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of field service operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of field service engineers to achieve performance targets.
- Oversee the scheduling and dispatch of technicians for installation, maintenance, and repair services.
- Monitor service performance metrics, ensuring adherence to SLAs and identifying areas for improvement.
- Implement and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all field operations.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and customer support teams to provide a unified client experience.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and equipment for the field service team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing a field service or technical support team.
- Strong understanding of installation, maintenance, and repair processes for complex equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using service management software and remote monitoring tools.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, make decisions, and drive performance improvements.
- A relevant technical qualification or degree in engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
