Field Service Technician

About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting for a motivated Field Service Technician to cover the Portsmouth and wider Hampshire area. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of specialized equipment at customer sites. You will play a critical part in ensuring our clients' operations run smoothly by providing timely and effective technical solutions. This position requires a proactive individual with strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to excellent customer service, working independently to meet service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installations, commissioning, and routine maintenance on equipment at various customer locations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, implementing effective repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Provide technical support and basic training to end-users on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Manage service schedules, travel, and parts inventory efficiently to ensure timely job completion.
• Complete detailed service reports and submit them accurately and on time, adhering to company procedures for the Portsmouth region.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a field service, technical support, or maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Customer-focused with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Must hold a valid UK driving license and be willing to travel within the designated service area.
