About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and technically proficient Field Service Technician to serve the Glasgow area. This role involves traveling to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair specialized equipment. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their systems operate at peak performance and addressing any technical challenges they encounter. Success in this role requires a strong aptitude for problem-solving, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while managing your schedule effectively. This is a hands-on position offering variety and the opportunity to work across different client environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and test new equipment at customer locations.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and diagnostic checks.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex technical issues on-site.
- Provide clear and concise technical explanations and support to customers.
- Document all service activities, including work performed, parts used, and time taken.
- Manage service requests and maintain an organized schedule for site visits.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data.
- Excellent customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with standard hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- A valid UK driving license and the willingness to travel extensively around Glasgow and surrounding areas.
