Field Support Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Field Support Engineer to bolster their installation and maintenance operations in Reading . This role is pivotal in providing on-site technical expertise, ensuring that equipment is installed correctly, maintained efficiently, and that any issues are resolved promptly. You will engage directly with clients, offering solutions and technical guidance to guarantee their satisfaction and the optimal functioning of deployed systems. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, comfortable travelling within the Berkshire area and contributing to a high standard of technical service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission new equipment at client sites.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and diagnostic checks to ensure system reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues encountered in the field.
• Provide technical support and basic training to end-users on system operations.
• Maintain detailed service records and manage inventory of parts and equipment.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and client site requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a field service, technical support, or installation role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with good diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing communication skills.
• Willingness to travel within the Reading area and occasionally beyond.
• A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
