Field Support Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Field Support Engineer to join their team in the vibrant city of Cambridge . This role is pivotal in providing essential on-site technical support, installation, and maintenance services for sophisticated equipment used by our clients across Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. You will be the primary technical representative, ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient problem-solving and expert service delivery. This hybrid position allows for effective management of responsibilities, balancing on-site duties with remote administrative tasks and planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installations, configurations, and upgrades of client equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and routine servicing to maintain optimal system performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to customers, including basic training on equipment usage.
• Maintain accurate and detailed service reports, documentation, and inventory records.
• Liaise with internal departments to escalate issues and provide feedback on product performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Field Support Engineer or similar technical service role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
• Must hold a valid UK driving license and be prepared to travel locally around Cambridge .
