Field Technician - Portsmouth

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Technician to join their installation and maintenance team serving the Portsmouth area. This role is vital for ensuring the successful deployment and ongoing support of our client's products at customer locations. You will be responsible for carrying out installations, performing routine checks, and addressing any technical issues that arise on-site. While the majority of your work will be field-based, there may be requirements for occasional remote troubleshooting or participation in virtual team meetings. This is a hands-on role perfect for an individual with a strong technical aptitude and excellent customer interaction skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installations and setups of equipment according to project specifications.
• Conduct regular maintenance and diagnostic checks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair technical faults or issues identified at customer premises.
• Provide basic training and guidance to clients on the proper use and care of installed equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Communicate effectively with the support team regarding site findings and resolution progress.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a field service, installation, or technical support role.
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Must possess a valid UK driving license and be able to travel within the Portsmouth region.
