This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in finance administration, purchase ledger or accounts payable who is looking to develop their skills and progress into a broader finance role.
The Role
Initially, you'll focus on the day-to-day finance function, including:
Processing and checking invoices and ensuring they are accurately coded and recorded. Supporting the purchase ledger using SAGE 50. Maintaining supplier records and ensuring financial documentation is properly processed and filed. Using Excel and finance systems to maintain accurate information. Progression & Development
A key part of this role is the opportunity to develop beyond traditional Finance Assistant responsibilities. During your first six months, you'll receive training and support to build your knowledge of the wider finance function. From six months onwards, you'll be trained to take on additional responsibilities including:
Supporting month-end processes, journals and reconciliations. Monitoring supplier and building-related costs. Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports. Providing financial analysis and commentary to support business decisions. Supporting budgeting and annual business planning. Assisting with funding bids, grant applications and financial claims.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, accurate and keen to develop their finance career. You'll ideally have some experience in finance administration, purchase ledger, accounts payable or a similar role, alongside good Excel skills. Experience with SAGE 50 would be an advantage, but full training will be provided where required. If you're looking for a role where you can start with core finance responsibilities and develop into a broader finance position, this could be a great next step
