Finance Director

A dynamic and growing supply and distribution business is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Finance Director to join the Senior Leadership Team.

This is a key strategic appointment for the business, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping future growth, driving operational improvements, and modernising the finance function through technology and innovation.

We are looking for a forward-thinking finance leader who combines strong commercial acumen with a hands-on approach and a passion for process improvement. The successful candidate will lead a business-critical ERP implementation project, champion the use of AI and automation across finance and operations, and act as a true business partner to the wider leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and reporting
• Play a key role within the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction and growth plans of the business
• Lead the implementation and optimisation of a new ERP system across the organisation
• Identify and drive opportunities to utilise AI, automation, and technology to improve efficiency and insight
• Provide commercial support and analysis to aid decision‑making and profitability
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and strategic financial planning
• Support operational teams in driving performance across supply chain and distribution activities
• Build strong relationships across the business and influence key stakeholders

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA )
• Proven experience operating at Finance Director or senior finance leadership level
• Background within supply, distribution, logistics, wholesale, or a similar operational environment
• Demonstrable experience leading ERP implementations and finance transformation projects
• Commercially astute with the ability to influence strategic decisions
• Forward-thinking and technology-driven, with an interest in AI and automation
• Hands‑on leadership style with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
