Finance Manager

Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting for our client, a well-established and highly respected organisation in Belfast, to recruit a Finance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys a varied role encompassing financial management, operational finance, payroll oversight, team leadership and continuous process improvement. Your new role Maintaining financial records and ensuring accurate coding and processing of transactions. Monitoring aged debt and overseeing credit control activities. Managing fixed asset records and financial controls. Preparing VAT returns and ensuring maximum recovery where appropriate. Supporting the production of management accounts and financial reports to aid decision-making. Assisting with year-end accounts preparation and external audit requirements. Overseeing project and grant claims, ensuring compliance with funding requirements. Leading and coordinating payroll processes and ensuring compliance with relevant payroll and pension regulations. Supporting and developing finance team members through coaching and mentoring. Identifying and implementing improvements to finance systems, processes and controls. Undertaking financial analysis and ad hoc projects to support organisational objectives. What you'll need to succeed Part-qualified status with ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or an equivalent recognised accounting qualification. A minimum of three years' experience operating an accounting system through to trial balance and management accounts stage. Experience managing or overseeing payroll processes. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail. The ability to analyse financial information and provide practical recommendations.
