Finance Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent and diligent Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of their organisation based in Bristol . This senior role is responsible for managing all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance, ensuring the organisation's financial health and sustainability. You will lead a small finance team and work closely with senior management to provide strategic financial insights and support decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, providing financial forecasts and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and charity commission requirements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and cash flow.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Provide financial advice and support to senior management and departmental heads.

Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in a finance management role, preferably within the charity sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and charity SORP.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong understanding of financial compliance and risk management.
